Group Exercise Class Descriptions Advanced Mat- a cardiovascular mat class which will engage and activate all major and minor accessory muscles, using light weights and high reps. Think: arms, abs, hips, legs, and glutes! All ability levels welcome; modifications are offered and encouraged.
Barre- Transform your body with this 1-hour session which moves from the barre to the mat in muscle-targeted sequences that sculpt the arms, lean out the legs, shape the glutes, and chisel the waistline. With high repetitions and fast transitions, you will be challenged, see results, and leave with a sense of accomplishment, energy, and peace.
BodyFlow- A yoga, Pilates, and Tai Chi class that builds flexibility and strength through a carefully structured series of stretches, moves, and poses. Enjoy this holistic workout to improve your mind, your body, and your life; to feel centered and calm. Happy.
BODYPUMP- This 60-minute addictive workout challenges all major muscle groups by using the best weight-room exercises such as squats, presses, lifts, and curls. The key to BODYPUMP is THE REP EFFECT, a breakthrough in fitness training focusing on high repetition movements with low weight loads.
Circuit Step- A high energy class that combines cardiovascular conditioning and strength-building exercises, using an interval approach for fat-burning and fun.
15-min. Core - Turn on your core through efficient, effective abdominal and back exercises to strengthen and tone with correct technique.
Dance Fitness- This energetic, upbeat high/low impact class is sure to get your body moving, combining cardiovascular training and toning exercises. Designed for all levels of fitness enthusiasts.
Gentle Yoga- This uplifting practice integrates breath and movement, designed to balance and calm through restorative postures. Stretch your body gently and awaken your senses through inspired music and motivation.
HipHop Sculpt- Cardio dance fitness that combines hip hop moves to the latest hit music with body sculpting and toning.
Karate*- An authentic Okinawan life protection art that teaches self-defense to adults and youth (ages 13 & up). These classes are free for members, and available to non-members for a monthly fee.
MoveStrong- Back to basics with this functional fitness class, utilizing body resistance and basic tools to promote stability, free range of movement, and core strength.
PiYo Live- A unique class- all about energy, power, and rhythm. Designed to build strength, gain flexibility, and condition the core muscles, through barefoot body weight training.
SilverSneakers Classic- Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to improve muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
SilverSneakers Yoga- Move your whole body through a complete series of seated yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures that increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Chair Yoga is a variation of SilverSneakers Yoga.
Spin (+ Sculpt)- A high-intensity, cardiovascular workout on a stationary bike, set to current music and/or a class theme. For + Sculpt version, Add light hand weights to achieve perfectly toned arms. Each participant may ride at his/her own level. Express version is a 30-minute format.
TBW (TotalBodyWorkout)- A high energy class designed for all fitness levels, to build cardiovascular endurance as well as tone and shape the muscles. Expect a rotating roster of cardio exercises, Pilates mat work, body weight training, resistance bands, and light hand weights to keep your body guessing and see results.
Vari-Yoga- Designed to promote relaxation and rejuvenation, this class improves flexibility, strength, and posture with sequences of traditional yoga poses.
Water Aerobics (seasonal)- Activate your aqua urge for variety! This class offers lots of shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. Swimming ability is required.
Yoga Rhythm- Part Flow, Part Yin (deep stretching) with energetic beats to move your soul. Level One.
Zumba- This dynamic class fuses hypnotic Latin flavor with international zest, to produce an easy-to-follow "fitness party" effect! Routines feature an interval training approach in which fast and slow rhythms are combined to tone, sculpt, and burn fat.
Note- As a general rule, no group exercise classes will be held when Searcy Schools are closed due to inclement weather. Check SAC’s social media pages for updates or exceptions. Group exercise classes will be held on these occasions, during hours when the gym is open: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve.
